Supporting People to do what really matters to them so they can live better, more connected lives.

Community Circles Australia

We all want to live in the place we call home, with the people and things we love, in communities where we look out for one another, doing the things that matter to us. #socialcarefuture

What is Community Circles?

Community Circles Australia is an initiative of Touched By Olivia Foundation.(TBOF)

At TBOF, we exist to “Improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities through inclusion and belonging”. We enable this by connecting people –  connecting those who are happy to volunteer their support to those needing support. Community Circles is a grassroots, local Community driven program

In essence, a Community Circle brings people together to help someone to live a more connected life, Community Circles support people to do what matters to them.

They are about finding out what is important to the person, and thinking together about how to turn that purpose into meaningful action. Those needing support are typically asked- “What is the one thing you would love to be able to do?”, and then we work to make that happen.

People often offer to help out others in need but don’t know where to start. A Community Circle provides the opportunity to find out how they can assist. These people could be friends, family, neighbours, professionals or other people they know. The Community Circle then helps to support the person, share tasks, and keeps everyone in the loop about what’s working and what’s not.

We are super proud to introduce you to Mario and Amelia, and their Community Circle.  We invite you to listen to Mario’s story about how Community Circles has given them a new lease on life! It’s the community way to help with the everyday. Community Circles – bringing joy to people’s lives through the power of Community!!

Leila would also like to share her story about how Community Circles supported her after she moved out of home for the first time into her own place. Feeling more connected to her local community has enabled Leila to build a home of her own.

Touched by Olivia is reimagining the Australian social care context.

By investing and partnering in the establishment of an evidenced based “person-led care” practice called Community Circles UK, Touched by Olivia is bringing innovation and disruption to the Australian market through its launch of Community Circles Australia.
